Family is not found in only one’s blood. Family is not found in only one’s name. Family is found in all shapes and sizes and situations. Cherish each other is the most important one.
Background:
The woman/airbender was born an only child but early in her life her family adopted a baby gryphon (after its mother died protecting both of the children from poachers) who quickly became like a sister to her. When the woman and man reunite they have both recently experienced severe loss (the woman lost her mother/father when her village was attacked and the man lost his entire unit when they were ambushed on a patrol) and were hurried out of small warzone by this gryphon. When the journey began these three beings who hadn’t seen each other in years soon had to rely on each other and became their own unique family unit.
